Yamagata Agricultural Products to the World
Yamagata Prefecture has the largest harvest of cherries, La France and other Western pears in Japan. Yamagata is also a fruit tree kingdom, boasting Japan's top harvest of apples, watermelons, grapes, melons, peaches, and other fruits. The four seasons of spring, summer, fall, and winter, as well as the clear temperature difference between day and night, nurture delicious fruits. As the demand for Japanese fruits has been increasing due to their extremely high quality, safety, and security, we are expanding our export business mainly to Asian countries such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China. Aging farmers. Shortage of farmers. Increased abandonment of farmland. In order to solve these and other problems surrounding agriculture, we are redeveloping and managing farmland in Tendo City and Kaminoyama City in Yamagata Prefecture and other areas in Yamagata Prefecture. In addition to redeveloping and managing farmland in Yamagata to reduce the amount of abandoned farmland, we also provide support for product development and the 6th industrialization of primary agricultural products for processing and marketing to increase the number of new farmers who wish to become farmers. In addition to our approach to solving the physical problems of farmland use, we continue to take on the challenge of realizing the potential of agricultural business and encouraging the next generation of farmers to become farmers.
